5 minute blog about Cashflow 101

Ok I am going to write this blog in five minutes because I have a commitment to make to my Meetup.com/nyccashflow team. We call each other rat racers. Why? Well because we are a group of 300 plus people who work as accountants, lawyers, web designers, stay at home moms, and yes artist who are in the rat race so to speak. We have all read Robert Kiyosaki's book Rich Dad Poor Dad and we are interested in the topic of what the Rich do that normal every day people seem to over look and not do. For example did you ever stop and think that your house or car is not an asset? Well Robert Kiyosaki says that your house or car is not an asset because it takes money out of your pocket so its a Liability. While a house that you rent out is an asset just so long as it puts money into your pocket. Simple phrases like the one I just said keep us rat racers learning about real estate and building businesses so we can have enough assets to pay for our desired lifestyle and enough passive income to e

Words of Wellness: Martin Luther King "I have a dream speech"

See the video here http://ping.fm/k8vBt On the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, King evoked the name of Lincoln in his "I Have a Dream" speech, which is credited with mobilizing supporters of desegregation and prompted the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The next year, King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The following is the exact text of the spoken speech, transcribed from recordings. "I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation. Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity. But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled

This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity. But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we have come here today to d

5 actions I do to wake up and remain in a positive frame of mind

Coming home to brooklyn from a long holiday stay in Manhattan with mom I realized more so how I like to start my day. I have several habits and rituals that take place in the beginning of my day that are unique to me perhaps. 1. Hop out of bed into something comfortable and go to a designated area of your home just for you. For example. I hop out of bed and put on comfortable and warmer pajamas when I first get up. Most people might get out of bed and hop right into the shower to get ready for work but me I put on pajamas and then head into a room I like to call the "fitness room" of the home. Just to give you a sense of what's going on at this time well its 2pm. My girlfriend is doing yoga to the internet station she likes to watch called "Namaste Yoga" sometimes we do the yoga together for example yesterday when we were in Manhattan we did yoga together and the class was taught by my girlfriend. I really needed some instruction and she got me through an am

3 Positive Music albums I would love to own

So for the past two years I have found that by using LastFM a radio station website you can listen to and find some of the coolest music around for yoga classes or just finding relaxation in your life around your home etc. I have been listening to it constantly and buying songs from Itunes that I favorite from listening to lastfm. By the way Undakova can be found on Last fm as well . ..  shameless plug. But anyhow the point of this post was not to promote Last Fm or Undakova but to announce 3 of the good albums I have yet to buy but wish I could because I believe them to be so beautiful and worth every penny.  The first album I would love to own is: The Spirit of Yoga by Ben Leinbach –Has  The Hierophant plus 4 other good long meditative songs on it. Another album would be Buddha moon album with songs by  Chinmaya Dunster – My favorite is  Full Moon , but Waning moon, and Waxing moon are all good for a new year in in peace and wellness. And lastly I would like to purchase GRACE by

10 of the most influential books I've read in 2010

Hello my neyba. This past year I was fortunate to have the time to have read many books from home and with peace of mind. Some of them I read each day only one page at a time. For example the books by Melody Beattie and KRS-One were meditational in my reading. I would read one page a day and meditate on the ideas and thoughts of the book each day. Other books I read in a matter of weeks and skimmed through for example the book "Money Greed and God" and "WorldChanging." I sped read chapters faster than I would normally read through a book just to satisfy my own emotions revolved around the topics in the books and various subjects and viewpoints I was more interested in looking at over others. The "Twitter Power" book as well as "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" to me were more like seminars where I would practice what I read in the book in real time as I went along. Same with the book by Mantak Chia. Well I would prefer you check out th

2009 til end of the decade commandments versus the 8 Ways.

Last year I created 10 commandments that really helped me along the way. The point of creating goals or affirmations in the New Year for me is to be a part of the designing process of your life. Let it go. And then look back and see how well you managed to keep to your word. You can check back at what you wrote every month or every now and then to keep you on track. These are the commandments I wrote for 2 years ago in 2009. Thou shall be compassionate and patient with thyself Thou shall eat healthy and exercise frequently Thou shall be impeccable with your word Thou shall build on a Financial Plan daily Thou shall not take anything personally Thou shall meditate 5 hours a week Thou shall not make assumptions Thou shall be a problem solver Thou shall always do your best Thou shall stay positive So now here are some of my thoughts on 2011. In 2010 I was able to follow a format and way of living I called the 8 ways. I would usually wake up and from that point on until the end of the day
