Rumor or Fact: Guitar Center is about to change hands.

I don't really trust what you read online. You have to do your own research. Its always a good way to start a inquire or conversation. Is taking information from blogs as straight raw facts a good idea? I always noticed that blogs are usually someones opinion and not the news, and even the news is opinionated and rarely factual these days(in my blog opinion).  Anyhow the link below is written  Eric Garland a "trend analyst" who alledgely has the inside scoop on what is going on behind the company Guitar Center. What you will read after clicking the link can change the landscape of the music industry and many other businesses, musicians. Check it out and see for yourself how YOU might directly be affected by Guitar Center's changing of ownership. Reminds me of when someone told me that Tower Records was going to close down in the city and I wouldn't be able to preview vinyl records the same way I grew up doing because there would be a main online store that

Money is important

"Money is one of the most important subjects of your entire life. Some of life's greatest enjoyments and most of life's greatest disappointments stem from your decisions about money. Whether you experience great peace of mind or constant anxiety will depend on getting your finances under control." —Robert G. Allen: investment advisor and author

All styles of dance welcome all styles of music played.

Presented by Star Love Princess Lockeroo and DJ Undakova Friday April 18th DJ Kovagirl and DJ Undakova played a fusion and constant blend of classics, reggae, soul, funk, disco, house, hip hop, and 80s R n B. Our intention is to find a venue where we can present parties like this for FREE every Friday in New York. A good friend John put me on to Bijan which had good vibes and was a chill spot in Brooklyn near fulton St. Really close walk from the A C trains and the 2 3 Train. Bijans is no longer available so we are on the hunt. We want to create a place where you can find waackers and lockers getting down to Disco and Funk as well as Old and young popping, grooving and getting down to 80s R n B classics and soul music. With DJ Kovagirl and I we keep the deep house and afro latin house is always rockng as well as old school hip hop and reggae. This is the best party in Brooklyn on Fridays that is Free for dancers.

My new favorite song!

Lately I have been listening to my records all the way through every track on the album. Its been a great gift to have the time and presence to do so. I don't know how I didn't find this song before but it has to be the UNDAKOVA theme song. It so directly speaks on a lot of what I look for in music and in my life. What I speak on and what I try try and try to live by but of course haven't mastered. Its great when you have a catchy song to remind you though. LOVE THIS!!! "Yes its true, Life is what you make it, you were born to be a winner" "Don't be negative try to be positive. . .close your eyes and look within" What a great song. Thank you to the legendary Donald Byrd.

Viva Loisaida: Walking the Lower East Side of 1978 [Video]

http://youtu.be/3ciVWF2gg-8 Posted on: October 12th, 2012 at 10:12 am by Elie “The Loisaida is sometimes known as the ghetto supermarket, where street hustling is the way of survival, a way of life…” Take ten minutes from your day and watch this awesome vintage video, courtesy of blogger compatriot Flaming Pablum . Entitled simply Viva Loisaida, the rare film explores the Lower East Side of October 1978, “giving a brief preview before gentrification occurred.” Colorful street scenes (e.g. Tompkins Square Park, the Christodora House, bombed-out tenements) are accompanied by narration and cutaways to various local activists of the time. We hear about common landlord practice and the demographics of the neighborhood. It’s a brilliant street-level glimpse from thirty-four years ago. Viva Loisaida was filmed by Marlis Momber in October 1978, and produced by “Gruppe Dokumentation” & “Tylis.”

Imagination is key

"First comes thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination." — Napoleon Hill: American author in the area of the new thought movement who was one of the earliest producers of the modern genre of personal-success literature

the song my Mom and Dad's wedding party came in on

Grateful that my mom is alive and well. #Blessings I was playing this album a few nights ago. Just in the zone and enjoying the music. My mom who is visiting from her warm climate abode in Florida over heard the music and began to enjoy it with me. I had no idea what the context of the song I was playing on vinyl was for her.  Turns out this song was the song her bridal party came in and was introduced on. This was at the wedding before my time on earth. Classic times. She began showing me the dance that they came in and walked doing. She was smiling and making the announcements of her bridal party. She was happy the music brought her back to that place in time.  Music is healing. Weddings are special. I am so grateful that my dad left me some of the best records I could ever know. There were many times my mom told me to sell the records or get rid of them. I am so grateful I didn't listen. I  am grateful for my lineage from 70s classic music to hip hop that I grew up

UNDAKOVA lyrics- Cartoon Characters

CARTOON CHARACTER VERSE Chorus:  You just a cartoon character.  Crazy Amateur You never get the chance to do the things you say you do You just a cartoon character Crazy Amateur  Cause deep inside all of us are laughing at you. Repeat 3x The jokes on you for years you didn’t hear it Drowned that voice so you wouldn’t get near this Gift that you have so powerful you fear it Scared that someday you may just have to wield it You can’t shield your light so just reveal it Its much too bright to hide or then conceal with Mediocre jobs that anyone can still get We got dreams to fulfill people to build with The hard times we had are still a privilege  this ain’t for us we do this for the children  for the people still living in a village  without clean water all 800 million plus the people still locked up in prison our ancestors who died and passed on the wisdom so we could overcome the struggles of the victims to live life free to the fullest i
