*THUG* was first used by British Colonials in India to describe a group of nomadic, religious murderers known for looting, strangling innocent travelers and offering these sacrifices to their Goddess Kali MA. No one doubted the divine origin of the Thuggee system, and this paradigm of religious-Murder provoked panic in colonial society which wished to impose its Western views of Monotheism, light triumphing over dark, private property, liberal individualism and overall build a New Christian Empire on top of tribal India. Thugs who had been identified by the British were branded with the tattoo "THUG" (Normally under the eyes)...as is today a popular look for American rap stars. Already at the borders of reality/fiction, the THUG lore spread internationally as the fiction of white male authors and sunk into the public imaginary as truth. While the British held fast to symbols of monarchy, in old India, everybody felt they could be King and God. Traditionally, Thugs gave a percent of their loot back to local religious officials, making their plunder dynamics a regular fixture of the economy. Theft was a legal tax cementing the age old alliance between Kings and Robbers [ThugLife]

Can somebody say Amen

After a week of seeing different people come in our house and leave our house with smiles on there faces still our sublet process is not complete. I wake up today and meditate my stress's away. Well most of em. Yesterday I spent all day working on a proposal for a school in Washington heights who seem to be interested in having an after-school program formulated by my company Willpowa. Weeks went by and I spent my days working on music and completing songs in the studio only to leave the proposal writing up to a trusted friend and fellow mc. Suffice to say it never got completed due to my energy being scattered amongst recording and subleting my place. Not to mention being a good boyfriend through the process. So turns out my friends from the UK want to look over it this weekend so I will have to submit the proposal in a bit late anyhow but hopefully with more spunk than it had in the first place. Anyway lets just say the only thing that helped me from not having a nervous breakdow...
