Co-Create Magic with Us

The Top 5 Things creatives may be doing wrong

I just got off the phone with a Visual artist who is coming on the Yo!Yogi Retreat with us in Thailand this June.
She had an awesome question for me – and I wanted to share my answers with you.
She asked:
“Why can't artist find the time and money to retreat and recharge to then begin creating their best work?
. . . what would you say are the five things creatives are doing wrong?”
Wow! That was a major question that I thought spoke to a lot of challenges. Here is my answer to the question with this TOP 5 .

5 - Forgetting the #1 basic rule of thumb:

Creative energy and sexual energy come from the same source.
Creating a healthy lifestyle that supports your art, business and ideal lifestyle takes this energy (ie MOJO.)
Going out on late nights, not getting enough sleep, drinking, and doing excessive drugs while believing these activities are fueling your Art actually will wind up doing the opposite and draining your ability to create the holistic lifestyle and success you deserve.

4 - Taking on too many meaningless jobs

that keep them afloat and in survival mode instead of harnessing their energy to enhance the creative superpower they are good at.

3 –Learning business skills, like automating workflow and how to keep up with administrative work.

Paying attention to their finances, production and marketing strategies is a challenge for creatives. Many don't focus on this and instead devote all of their time and energy into making their art work. Believing that this makes the art more "pure" because their mine isn't on how to market the art and do the day to day tasks it takes to keep their business afloat. These creatives actually believe that someone will magically come and find their work and pay for their ideal lifestyle because it is "pure art." This myth gets hyped up because of the tiny few that due only have to focus on their art but that percentage is tiny compared to the many that actually have to be skilled at managing their art business.

2 – Not having the confidence to stay focussed on their own element.

I see a lot of creatives give most of their attention to what other people who "look like they have it better" are doing instead of focusing solely on what their mission is. They give their power away instead of finding out ways to gain recognition for their anthology of work. This form of people pleasing is based in the fear of not wanting negative feedback from others thus making it hard for them to be who they are authentically and find their own voice so they can become an expert and leader rather than a follower.

1 – Not making impactful decisions:

For example creatives who don't create a business that can support their trade or artwork above and beyond the institutions they learned their trade from is damaging. Staying a "technician/tradesmith" and not becoming a business owner keeps creatives as employees which is good if you want a J.O.B. (j.ust o.ver b.roke) But can you schedule the time to travel when you want to? Will you have the time and energy to follow your dream beyond your day job hours? What will be your big picture vision and overall strategy for your life's work beyond your day job as a technician? These decisions don't get answered and then before you know it they are stuck in a position where they cannot travel and fulfill their deepest longings for next level spiritual growth and activation.

Blessings so, I hope that was helpful. I know it seems a bit sad but true that these challenges exist for us creatives but I feel it is my important duty to keep it real with you and get this off of my chest.
At the end of the day your creativity, art and the ability to follow your soul's purpose is the most important thing anyway. So why sugar coat it, be stuck in analysis paralysis and not start building the stamina and energy to focus on your art, schedule time to travel and build your art business.
I think you can be making money, living your best life and traveling with your family as you wish.

7 Reasons why becoming a member of Beat365 rocks.

As you already might know I go by the alias Undakova (Undercover) and I am beat maker, DJ and MC here in NYC. I have been producing hip hop beats since the 90s and have produced my own hip hop instrumentals for my album created here in New York City. I often get asked by R & B artist and MCs "Can you produce some beats for my album?" One day the question popped up in my head "Where does an artist find great sounding Hip hop, r&b and rap beats that sound so good you play them in your car for fun as well as record song after song with them?" If an artist doesn't have a friend or business partner who is a producer or know how to/ want to produce beats on there own spare time (which can take a lot of time and money) where does he/she find a complete collection of hip hop beats? Well the answer is simple. . . . To find Hip hop, r&b and rap beats that sound so good you play them in your car for fun as well as record song after song with them go to Beats365...
