9 out of 10 times when reconnecting with Self Suffice over the phone or in person or having a chat with his mom who is my mom I somehow wonder how is it I actually know this brother. How is it that I actually get to experience life on this planet with him and his blessed family. This man is a true legend in my eyes. The first time I ever decided to rhyme on a street corner in my neighborhood of the lower east side it was through his guidance and appreciation for who I was and what I had to say. I joined Self Suffice’s hip hop group called “Underrated” long ago in the early nineties hence my adaptation of the word Undercover for my alias Undakova. I was the secret ingredient and Self Suffice was the overall special sauce.


Anyhow enough about my relationship to Suffice. I wanted to hopefully be the introduction or reconnection to your relationship with him. From rhyming on a corner to a beat box to building in a personal conversation and practically getting school’d about hip hop at one of his workshops this Urban Busk Video indeed captures a valuable part of who this man truly is for hip hop and the global community.
