Please join me at Bridging Education & Art Together (BEAT)’s inaugural FriendRaiser event on December 7th. It will be an evening filled with music, community, and an opportunity to learn and support the pioneering work BEAT is doing using art, creativity, and Hip Hop as tools for empowerment, self-expression, and solutions to real-world issues facing our youth today.
Live music will be provided by BEAT Instructors throughout the event in addition to program specific showcases featuring students performing with their Instructors.
We will also honor Dr. David Kirkland with a acknowledgement ceremony. Dr. Kirkland is an author, professor, and Executive Director of The NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and The Transformation of Schools.
Open beer/wine and a beautiful spread will be served.
