Srikalogy / The Realness [OFFICIAL]

With a New Video, Upcoming Tour and Hot Album, Brooklyn’s Srikalogy Demonstrates The Art of Showing Up

Srikalogy find himself at the center of a rapidly spreading transformational music scene. With a new video (“The Realness,” premiering 12/16) and an upcoming European tour supported by a grassroots Indiegogo campaign, this powerhouse of creativity, community mobilization and musical genius is out to illustrate the beauty of just showing up.

Throughout a successful year during which he wowed festival audiences on both coasts and helped to produce several multi-media events in his native Brooklyn, Srikalogy (aka Srikala Kerel Roach) joyously exemplified the ideals artfully expressed on his latest album, New Paradigm (2014, Black Swan Sounds). This living soundtrack for the transformational arts movement addresses how we can positively affect the world by integrating inner and global consciousness with lifestyle.

Indeed, Srikala’s description of “transformational music” is an apt depiction of the album itself: “It not only makes you feel good. It has a beneficial effect on your mind. It hits you on a physical level,” he explains,” but it also hits you an energetic level. It’s something that’s meant to heal, and meant to expand your outlook on life.”

According to Srikala, sometimes the first step towards transformation is just sitting still. “The mind has a tendency to be in the future or the past,” he says, “we’re never in the space. When the mind is still, the realness of what’s around us just shines forth.”

In other words, when we move out of our own way, good things tend to happen. That’s the message imparted in his new video, “The Realness,” and it’s a vision shared by an expanding community devoted to creating spaces and events where people come together to enthusiastically explore the not-yet-known through music, art and movement.

Says Srikala, “this movement is going on all around the world. There’s a lot of people that are using their art to transform the world around them. To heal the mind/body/spirit. Heal the atmosphere. The next question is “how can we bring this idea to other places? How can I connect with these different movements?”

The answer may well lie in his one-way ticket to London, where in late-January he’ll commence his In The Journey European Tour, an endeavor he is funding via an Indiegogo campaign running through December 22nd.

The idea is to zoom around the continent, "planning, but playing with improvisation and being led by spirit. I’m taking some of my music, I’m taking some of the understanding and practices that we’re doing in Brooklyn, just to connect, to build bridges. The beautiful part about that is sometimes all you need to do is show up. Sometimes you don’t need to have everything planned out. I have a couple gigs planned, but ultimately maybe 50% to 60% is just me showing up in the towns and meeting local people and local communities.”

Part of the art of showing up is simply having faith. It requires a good degree of courage to wing it Srikalogy-style, but experiential evidence overwhelmingly favors those bold as love. That’s how progress is made.

“What is the new paradigm?” Srikala asks. “There’s two branches of what the new paradigm is. It’s that space in yourself, what’s new for you, what’s your next level, what’s your next expansion? The whole album and the whole movement is to awaken that.

“[T]hen there’s the new paradigm on the global scale: environmental, all the ways that improve the world around us.”

His is a vision that demands immediate action, and Srikala is leading by example. The inevitable question for everyone else then becomes: how do we show up? How does our unique participation contribute to the larger movement? The answer to that awaits you in the stillness of the realness.

Srikalogy’s “The Realness” video debuts on December 16th.

7 Reasons why becoming a member of Beat365 rocks.

As you already might know I go by the alias Undakova (Undercover) and I am beat maker, DJ and MC here in NYC. I have been producing hip hop beats since the 90s and have produced my own hip hop instrumentals for my album created here in New York City. I often get asked by R & B artist and MCs "Can you produce some beats for my album?" One day the question popped up in my head "Where does an artist find great sounding Hip hop, r&b and rap beats that sound so good you play them in your car for fun as well as record song after song with them?" If an artist doesn't have a friend or business partner who is a producer or know how to/ want to produce beats on there own spare time (which can take a lot of time and money) where does he/she find a complete collection of hip hop beats? Well the answer is simple. . . . To find Hip hop, r&b and rap beats that sound so good you play them in your car for fun as well as record song after song with them go to Beats365...
