Being successful in the 8 ways I am stive to the fullest we dive from the bullets in the concrete jungle, the cops try to put us In a jail cell where they die, man I couldn't See myself living inside so I wouldn't Break laws or fight wars intentionally Cause to live life "poor" is a sentence to me I don't mean financially just listen to see Successful in the 8 ways is what I am wishing to be And the first way is wisdom See life is a prison if you can't expand your mind with the knowledge that you're given Ever day I learn and practice as I listen To my inner voice as I capture intuition It tells me what to read, how to master how I am living So I stay wise and I pass it to the children The second way is health So I stay building on my insides and to check after my feelings

Seven years ago... I was at the front beach, in Cannes, during the MIDEM, the internationally known music fair. A man, young and tall, was talking with Annabelle, the anchor of the show I was organizing. It was the end of the day and, in February, even on the Southern shores of France, the wind was biting and David wearing a single T-shirt was shaking. I gave him my jacket and he borrowed me his mp3 player. "These are my songs!" he told me, so I put the headphones... Since then, seven years ago, I have been listening David's compositions. His songs, his voice, his arrangements have something that can't be explained by words, because words are signs while David's songs are vibrations, feelings, colors. So what made me want to do a meditation technique that has been lost to humanity and rediscovered by Gotama the Buddha more than 2500 years ago?  The benefits of  learning something that I could take into my life that will make what I am already doing better. I already had a meditation practice before learning Vipassana. Now I feel I have gained the ability to sit much longer than the  30 minutes a day I was used to, I am not totally dependent on my iphone or a sound track and I can meditate anywhere, which to me is more practical. To me it seems that now that I went to a Vipassana course I can now say I am learning how to meditate FOR REAL lol. And now that I know more about Vipassana and have gained the experience in practicing it I sit twice a day to maintain my practice and : develop a discipline of working toward increased present awareness and humility, reducing my ego. deal with the challenges in my daily life activities and let them pass me by without getting so attached to...

In the year of 2009 I created 10 commandments that really helped me along the way. The point of creating goals or affirmations in the New Year for me is to be a part of the designing process of your life. Let it go. And then look back and see how well you managed to keep to your word. You can check back at what you wrote every month or every now and then to keep you on track. These are the commandments I wrote for 2 years ago in 200 but I would like to continue to make them a part of my growth in 2012. Maybe they will have some relevance to you and your goals. 10 Commandments Thou shall be compassionate and patient with thyself Thou shall eat healthy and exercise frequently Thou shall be impeccable with your word Thou shall build on a Financial Plan daily Thou shall not take anything personally Thou shall meditate 5 hours a week (wow this was in 2009. So once I realized that he had jokes I had to get my Undakova spy cam on. Only it turned out that he really liked the attention and wanted to perform directly in front of it. I gave him a huge tip and a high five and got off on the next stop but this is what happened before we made friends.
